Full credit to Shadman and Zakir fornegotiating the tricky period and going back unscathed. But the day belongs to Rizwan and Shakeel. The pair have put Pakistan in a commanding position thanks to their 240-run partnership. It has been a superb turnaround from the hosts; reaching 448/6 after being reduced to 16/3. Shakeel and Rizwan batted smartly mixing caution and intent. They batted through the first session and cashed in during the second session. Both of them got to their respective hundreds and though Shakeel fell to Mehidy, Rizwan carried on to record his career-best score. Masood declared with an hour’s play left and unleashed his pace attack, but the Bangladesh openers weathered through the period.
